Become a Finance Integration, Business Transformation and Readiness, Senior Advisor for the NextGen ERP Program at Southern California Edison and build a better tomorrow.

The NextGen ERP Program spans over 5 years leveraging emerging digital solutions in concert with re-imagining and transforming our current processes and organization to make dramatic improvements to operational performance, as many companies are doing across industries. We are looking at an approach that not only upgrades the systems but also transforms our business processes to maximize efficiency, improve data quality, and provide better integrated decision making across the enterprise.

We are currently in the implementation phase the ERP program, leveraging a hybrid agile approach to drive change. This effort goes beyond a system upgrade-it's a fundamental redesign of our core financial processes. Our goal is to streamline operations, enhance data accuracy, and enable integrated, enterprise-wide decision-making. Finance Integration is one of four tracks that play a critical role in delivering these outcomes.

This role sits within the Corporate Accounting Finance Integration Track. The team is responsible for implementing future-state designs that transform core finance functions. The position supports efforts to ensure solutions across the finance implementation align with business needs and enterprise goals. As a Senior Advisor within the Finance Integration track, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, supporting the design, build, and implementation of Record-to-Report workstreams on the Regulatory Accounting & Tax team as part of the broader Record-to-Report pods.

The Senior Advisor will be responsible for ensuring business requirements are met and complex integration is fully addressed through streamlined and rationalized processes that align with new technological capabilities for the relevant process area and activities.

KEY FOCUS AREAS

  • Lead, develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to provide support for key decisions and to secure buy-in for fit-to-standard and custom solutions developed to meet business needs.


  • Assist cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of business operations software and systems ensuring that business requirements are met for assigned business process area.


  • Support implementation workshops and other forums to gather, synthesize, and validate information, ensuring a robust understanding of existing business processes and requirements.


  • Conduct thorough evaluations during the implementation phase to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in current procedures.


  • Challenge the status quo, support transformational change, and recommend practical solutions that align with implementation goals.


  • Analyze and synthesize data and process flows, incorporating best practices to support the implementation strategy. Support informed recommendations or decisions based on this analysis, and present key findings to stakeholders.


  • Collaborate with technical team experts to enhance processes, including performing comprehensive user integration testing. Provide functional guidance and supervision to analysts.


  • Build relationships and interact with peers, managers, system integration (SI) partners, directors, and all levels of leadership to achieve implementation objectives.


  • Prepare and deliver presentations and support other work activities that align with project milestones.

  • Serves as lead on implementation teams and the single point of contact for assigned technology workshops as well as oversees the development of tools, data readiness efforts, and processes needed to ensure a successful implementation of Asset Management principles and asset integration business planning.
  • This position is expected to be a subject matter expert.
  • Provides strategic guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of business operations and/or transformation experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, a technical discipline, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Project Management certification or equivalent experience conducting and facilitating process workshops and managing end-to-end projects.
  • Knowledge of SAP/ERP and/or BlackLine applications and modules, with a deep understanding of related business processes and operating models across one or more domains, including General Ledger (GL) Accounting, SAP Finance and Payroll modules (FI, CO, or S/4HANA Finance), and/or SCE cost flows.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience building enterprise-level financial reports and dashboards using S/4HANA capabilities, Power BI, Alteryx, or other enterprise reporting tools.
  • Experience with full lifecycle SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA ERP implementations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience advising and recommending courses of action related to process improvements, operational plans, or business strategies, often for senior leaders and executive audiences.
  • Experience translating complex business needs and requirements into effective technology solutions.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements and technology solutions.
  • Proven ability to serve as a change agent and innovative thinker with a track record of influencing organizational change.
  • Ability to enhance workplace safety and foster a positive work environment


Additional Information

  • Project Regular: This is a full-time project regular positon for an estimated duration of 19 months, with an estimated end date of March 31, 2028. This position is eligible for company benefits and incentives during the duration of the assignment.
  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
