The City of Williston, ND is accepting applications for a Finance Director.
The ideal candidate is an experienced municipal finance executive who combines exceptional technical expertise with strategic leadership and sound professional judgment. This person is collaborative and approachable leader who communicates complex financial information with clarity, serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and elected officials, and proactively develops innovative financial strategies. The successful candidate is committed to mentoring staff, fostering continuous improvement, and building upon an already strong financial organization while positioning the City for long-term success.
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field
• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible governmental finance, accounting, budgeting, auditing, or public administration experience
• Minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory or executive management role
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid North Dakota driver's license
• Must be bondable
