SUMMARY

The Finance Director, Manufacturing & Operations serves as the strategic finance leader supporting all manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, logistics, and operational functions. This role partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Executive Leadership to drive financial performance, operational efficiency, cost optimization, and profitable growth. The Finance Director provides financial leadership for manufacturing operations, develops robust forecasting and planning processes, and delivers actionable insights to improve productivity, margins, inventory management, and capital investments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Business Partnership
  • Act as the primary finance business partner to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations leadership.
  • Provide financial guidance and decision support for operational initiatives, capacity planning, network optimization, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Influence strategic decisions through financial analysis, scenario modeling, and business case development.

Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning processes for manufacturing and operations functions.
  • Analyze operational and financial results, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Present financial results and business insights to executive leadership.
  • Lead financial analysis and approval processes for capital expenditures.
  • Develop business cases and return-on-investment analyses for manufacturing equipment, automation, facility expansions, and operational improvement initiatives.

Process Improvement & Controls
  • Strengthen financial controls, reporting processes, and operational governance.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify and implement process improvements that enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Leadership
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build organizational capabilities in financial analysis, planning, and business partnership.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
  • 5+ years supporting manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or industrial environments
  • Strong background in FP&A, cost accounting, manufacturing finance, and operational analytics
  • Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing operations, standard costing, inventory accounting, and supply chain finance
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business insights
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive organizational change
