Full Job Description

ABOUT THE JOB

As Finance Director for Fury, you'll own the financial strategy, planning, and execution for a program that spans R&D, flight test, production ramp, and fielded operations - often simultaneously. You'll be a true partner to the program managers, engineering leads, and Autonomous Airpower's leadership team, translating technical and schedule realities into financial plans that enable speed rather than slow it down. This is not a back-office role - you'll be embedded with the program team, making real-time trade-off decisions, shaping proposals, and building the financial infrastructure for a program that's scaling rapidly under significant internal and external scrutiny.

In this role, you will serve as the senior financial leader for the Fury product and related programs, responsible for EACs, funding profiles, revenue recognition, and margin management across all active contracts and internal investments. Build and maintain program financial models that account for a fast-moving development timeline, production learning curves, and evolving customer requirements. Partner with program managers on monthly and quarterly reviews, variance analysis, and risk/opportunity identification - owning the narrative behind the numbers. Lead proposal pricing and cost volume development for new Fury contracts, including competitive bids, negotiations, and contract modifications. Stand up and mature earned value management (EVM) processes appropriate for the program's scale and contract types, balancing rigor with Anduril's pace. Coordinate with Anduril's Corporate Finance, FP&A, Accounting and Government Operations teams to ensure Fury's financials roll up cleanly and that program-level decisions align with company-level objectives. Recruit, develop, and lead a growing team of program finance analysts and cost estimators as the program scales.
ABOUT THE TEAM

The Autonomous Airpower business line, within Anduril's Air Dominance & Strike division, is building the unmanned fighter jet Fury. Fury is a high-performance, software-defined combat aircraft designed to be produced at scale and operated in contested environments. The Fury product and related programs sit at the intersection of rapid hardware development, cutting-edge autonomy, and a production ramp that in many ways looks more like a tech product launch than a traditional defense acquisition. This role puts you at the financial helm of one of the most consequential programs in modern defense.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Daily partnership with Senior Leaders within AD&S to bring first class financial expertise and support to the business.
  • Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and oversee the preparation of business line, product and program level financial reporting.
  • Own the financial oversight and management for a portfolio of large, complex, and mission-critical programs
  • Manage and scale a dedicated team in line with the needs of the business by developing and hiring best-in-class talent and implementing best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible finance organization.
  • Lead the development of executive-level reporting and present financial insights to senior management.
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with forecasts, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances.
  • Work with senior AD&S and corporate finance leaders to identify and implement ways to improve business performance and finance systems, tools and processes.
  • Get deep in the operations and support the team in creating bottoms-up, data-driven models to understand segmentation, pricing optimization, scenarios, and financial returns of our products and investments.
  • Own performance dashboards, alerting, and investigation into KPI health. Assess the impact of financial decisions on KPIs while developing strategies which drive demonstrable impact against these metrics.
  • Develop deep relationships with our customers (both internal and external) and oversee customer program reporting, monthly invoicing, and monthly financial status reporting.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification (CPA, CFA) is a plus.
  • 15+ years of finance experience working for Big Tech, Defense, Large Manufacturing, or Government contracting, with 3-5 years in a senior leadership position.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling and data analysis tools, and experience with financial reporting tools and ERP systems (i.e. Oracle Fusion, Oracle EPM, Anaplan, Foundry).
  • Demonstrated track record of owning problems end-to-end in a finance function.
  • Intellectually curious - you seek to understand the why behind the numbers.
  • Highly technical - you value precision and accuracy when it comes to your work, and you can rapidly dissect complex quantitative problems.
  • Critical thinker - you consider problems from all angles to remove bias.
  • Results-oriented - you will do whatever it takes to get the job done.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills. You drive consensus through grounded arguments, interpersonal skills, and negotiation skills.
  • Creative problem-solver - able to identify obstacles and present viable solutions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
  • Excited by large breadth of problems.
  • Confidence to execute in highly visible and accountable positions.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be security clearance eligible.

Per Anduril's expansion plans, we anticipate this job will be based out of Long Beach, CA beginning late 2027.
