Job Description

Purpose:

The Intercontinental Finance Controller is the leader of:
  • The financial planning, consolidation, and analysis process for the InterContinental Area, namely the monthly LBE (Latest Best estimate)process, yearly Plan and LRP (P&L, DSO, capital & Balance sheet), providing financial guidance to affiliates in compliance with financial policies, preparing meaningful analysis vs. benchmark reports and leading ad-hoc initiatives to improve planning processes.
  • The InterContinental S&OP in cooperation with S&OP Director and Finance Business Partners (FBPs) in delivering consolidation & analysis to InterContinental leadership.
  • The monthly close process that encompasses flash coordination and reporting, actuals monthly close reporting vs. flash, and HQ entity close requirements.
  • The Finance Digital Transformation, in cooperation with Finance Business Partners (FBPs), identifying suitable technology solutions to enhance our analysis capability.
  • Develops and executes continual process improvements to allow for routine analytical reviews of company financial and operational performance, leveraging business analytical resources and tools.
  • The HQ entity budget planning, monitoring & control, ensuring compliance to AbbVie policies and procedures.
  • A team of 4 finance professionals driving the consolidation & analysis behind planning & close processes, Oncology TA business support, supporting InterContinentals Area HQ, InterContinentals Medical organization in terms of financial planning/forecasting and ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Projects at InterContinental level defined yearly in line with priorities & objectives (S&OP standardization, dedicated allocated approach, etc.), and working committees at company level when needed for projects related to systems implementation, expenses analysis and optimization, processes optimization, etc.


Responsibilities:
  • Oversee/lead all aspects of LBE, Annual Plan and LRP including P&L, headcount, DSO, balance sheet and capital.
  • Oversee/manage all aspects of the monthly financial forecast & supply reviews.
  • Provides relevant analysis and commentary for each financial cycles presented monthly to the Area VP and Area FD.
  • Responsible for coordinating the above-mentioned processes end-to-end between GCF (Global Commercial Finance), International, Area and affiliates, incorporating review changes of both financial and operating management, providing guidance, support and feedback to ensure continuous improvements are met.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis for management team and based on GCF or International request. Support key projects and initiatives (e.g. planning system standardization, management reporting and optimization) and drive process improvements.
  • Act as FD of the InterContinental HQ (100+ HCs), which is spread across 18 different countries with main locations such as Chicago, Singapore, Dubai and Brazil. Oversee budget planning and control, compliance to AbbVie policies leveraging resource from COE (Centers of Excellence).
  • Oversee and develop Oncology Finance Lead and provide ad-hoc support on Oncology TA business partnering.
  • Oversee business partnering support for InterContinentals Medical organization.
  • Support affiliate and regional finance teams across InterContinental - 20 affiliates, 5 LBUs, 3 Regions.


Qualifications
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally with FP&A & controllership experience.
  • Bachelors degree in finance or accounting, with preferably an MBA or CPA.
  • Ability to work successfully within a matrix organization, negotiate and prioritize requirements with management, both locally and regionally.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), presentation and influential skills.
  • SBU FD experience.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Robust financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong excel proficiency, experience with BPC and SAP preferred.
