Full Job Description
Finance | Head Office (CNH) | Niagara Falls, Ontario

Numbers tell a story - and at Canadian Niagara Hotels, that story unfolds across world-renowned hotels, celebrated restaurants, and unforgettable guest experiences just steps from the Falls. We are looking for a Controller who does not simply close the books, but reads the narrative behind them: a finance leader fluent in data, energized by technology, and ready to turn insight into real business impact.

What You'll Own
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a large, multi-property finance team - building a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive a tight, accurate, and increasingly automated month-end and year-end close across multiple business units.
  • Own the monthly Financial Review with operations - tracking Business Plan objectives, action items, and follow-ups that keep every outlet accountable.
  • Deliver consistent, insight-rich financial statements, dashboards, and labour KPI reporting that operators actually use to make decisions.
  • Partner with operations to drive revenue, control costs, and elevate guest satisfaction - translating financial insight into operational wins.
  • Lead the annual budget and forecasting process, aligning each outlet's plan with enterprise objectives.
  • Safeguard company assets through strong internal controls and best practices adopted consistently across all entities.
  • Oversee year-end audits, reviews, and tax filings - delivered accurately and on time.

The AI & BI Edge - Where Finance Meets the Future

We are transforming finance into a data-driven, technology-enabled powerhouse - and you will lead the charge.
  • Champion the finance function's evolution: modern business intelligence tooling (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) turning raw data into live, self-serve dashboards for leaders across the company.
  • Harness AI and machine learning to automate reconciliations, streamline the close, forecast demand and revenue, and flag anomalies before they become problems.
  • Turn data into decisions - translating advanced analytics and machine-generated insight into clear, plain-language guidance operators can act on today.
  • Partner with IT and operations to integrate PMS, POS, and ERP data into a single source of financial truth.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on emerging finance technology, responsibly piloting new tools that boost accuracy, speed, and insight.

Hospitality & Hotel Finance Fluency
  • Deep understanding of hotel and hospitality financials - departmental P&Ls, reporting standards, and multi-outlet consolidations.
  • Command of the metrics that drive our business: RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, flow-through, GOP, and F&B / labour cost controls.
  • Experience navigating the complexity of a multi-property, multi-brand environment spanning hotels, restaurants, retail, and attractions.
  • Ability to connect operational levers - rooms, food & beverage, spa, events, retail - to their financial outcomes.

What You Bring
  • CPA designation.
  • 5+ years of progressive post-qualification experience, including proven leadership of a finance team.
  • A genuine curiosity for technology - hands-on comfort with BI tools and a working understanding of how AI can elevate finance.
  • Hospitality or hotel finance experience (a strong asset), or a service-oriented background with the appetite to master it.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial-systems savvy.
  • Sharp business acumen, exceptional attention to detail, and first-class analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative, people-first leadership style that grows teams and retains talent.
