Project Overview:Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Job Summary:In this role, you will maintain the field welding program and provide welding engineering support, technical knowledge, and assistance. You will coordinate the rod room and attendants, the welding test lab, and maintain welder qualifications and stamps. Your work will ensure that workmanship and materials conform with project requirements and contribute to the welding program credibility. #LI-BH1
Major Responsibilities:- Supports the Project Field Engineer and the Lead Field Welding engineer in implementing the site welding program on small projects
- Implements and maintains Bechtel Field Welding program for all welding operations.
- Provides technical assistance to field superintendents and crafts.
- Ensures that all supervision and craft personnel involved in welding operations are educated and aware of applicable code and project requirements.
- Additional Requirements for Post Weld Heat Treatment Coordinator
- Coordinates work activities of subcontractor and direct-hire pre/ PWHT personnel.
- Possesses working knowledge of Bechtel's corporate pre/PWHT procedure (PHT-2) and other welding procedures / standards.
- Supports the crafts in meeting cost and schedules.
Education and Experience Requirements:- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:- Knowledge of basic construction principles.
- Knowledge of Bechtel's "Zero Accidents" safety program.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
- Working knowledge of Access, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and be proactive.
- Possess a high degree of individual initiative, flexibility, diplomacy, and accuracy.
- Ability to work with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn new processes, procedures, and software.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and easily adjust priorities.
- The candidate should have a good working knowledge of current design codes and standards such as UPC, IBC, SMACNA, ASME, AWS, and NFPA.
- The candidate should have a good working knowledge of welding technical and practical applications such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW STT.
- The candidate should have a good working knowledge of Preheat/Post Weld Heat Treatments, equipment, and consumables.
