Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with OEM regional personnel for training precision
  • Conduct dealer visits focused on leadership and service management training
  • Promote GM Tire Programs and support Service Lane Operations
  • Act as communication liaison for GM Tire Promotions and updates
  • Gather dealer feedback for program improvements
  • Develop standardized best practices for tire selling
  • Train Tire Distributors on operational elements of the GM Tire Program
  • Create new tools to enhance program efficiency
  • Implement programs to accelerate sales growth

Full Job Description

Base Pay Range:

$85,000 - $100,000


As a Retail Tire Trainer, your essential job functions will include the following:

  • Regional Tire Trainer(s) coordinate and partner with OEM regional personnel with laser-like focus
  • In-depth dealer visits with focus on Dealer Leadership including Dealer Principal, General Manager, and Fixed Ops Director; Service Manager, Parts Manager, and Service Lane Training
  • Promote GM Tire Programs with key interest in the Service Lane Operations, Tire RO Penetration growth, and related around the wheel service parts (Halo Effect)
  • Communication liaison for GM Tire Program i.e. promotions, products, misc. tire related updates
  • Provide suggestions for improvements from the field/dealers to the GM Business Owner
  • Develop a set of best practices for selling tires in the service lane and instill throughout all locations (Standardized Contact Process)
  • Train Tire Distributors on operations, incentives, communications, reports, online tools, and elements of the GM Tire Program playbook
  • Suggest and Develop new tools and applications (e.g. Stocking Guide, Scorecard) for GM Tire Central and beyond
  • Develop and execute programs to accelerate program growth and drive sales (e.g. Expand the Expertise, Tire Clinics)

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years tire industry experience, including retail, wholesale, management, training, marketing, and program development, or equivalent experience in related environment
  • Considered an industry expert in tire retail, marketing, and management experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel within Metro Market areas and occasionally to headquarters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
  • Passion for the marketing discipline (products and consumers)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders
  • Ability to manage conflicting demands with demonstrated project management expertise
  • Business acumen (commercial experience)
  • Aftermarket Parts and service knowledge
  • Well organized with a strong drive for results - able to drive the business and manage their time effectively
  • A good understanding of data management and analytics
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Background: Marketing / Sales
  • Tire Industry experience across all levels - from working with/in Retail Stores to working directly with Tire Manufacturers
  • Leadership: Able to work independently or with minor supervision / team player
  • Valid driver's license, in good standing and reliable transportation.
