Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking a Field Supervisor Carpentry to join our Facilities Sector. The ideal candidate is responsible for collecting and documenting detailed building component data across District sites, using various digital tools such as tablets, laptops, and smartphones. This role requires a strong understanding of building construction to accurately identify both visible and concealed building systems located behind walls, ceilings, and floors. The Carpenter evaluates the condition and remaining service life of building system components, applying construction expertise and guidance from FCA Unit leadership to determine client‑specific RSL values. The position works collaboratively with other trade surveyors to gather measurements, quantities, and standardized information as needed. Additionally, the ideal candidate supports and conducts ad hoc surveys related to District facilities on an as‑needed basis.

Responsibilities
  • Identifies and collects building component data on systems installed at District sites.
  • Uses various computer formats to enter data (e.g., Tablets, laptops, Smartphones, etc.)
  • Uses knowledge and experience in building construction to identify building systems that are hidden behind walls, ceilings, and floors.
  • Assesses the overall condition and remaining service life of building system components based on construction experience and knowledge. Applies direction and guidance on determining RSL Values specific to LAUSD from FCA Unit leadership.
  • Works collaboratively with other trade surveyors to gather quantities, measurements, boilerplate information, etc., as needed and directed.
  • Conducts/Supports ad hoc surveys related to District sites and buildings on an as-needed basis.
  • May supervise the performance of staff and survey participants as needed; serve as a resource to staff.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in engineering,Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • Candidates without a bachelor’s degree must have at least 10 years of experience. Four of the ten years of experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis
  • 6 or more years of experience working with on-site construction management teams as well as with campus administrators, faculty, and staff.

Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000 yearly

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Work Environment: Onsite
