Your main responsibilities

The Field Superintendent is responsible for the performance and quality of all assigned units, ensuring customer and company requirements are met with a focus on safety, quality, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role plays a critical part in supporting regional objectives while overseeing field operations, employee development, and project execution.

The ideal candidate is a high-energy, results-driven leader with strong technical expertise, business acumen, and a commitment to operational excellence. As a Field Superintendent, you will provide technical guidance, ensure workplace safety, supervise technicians and job site activities, and support service, maintenance, and repair sales efforts. Success in this role requires the ability to build strong customer relationships, maximize profitability, develop employees, and deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of field technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Oversee the training and ongoing development of technicians, ensuring compliance with established processes, tools, and quality standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all company, customer, and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication across teams while fostering productive relationships with the local union.
  • Ensure service, maintenance, and repair work is completed in accordance with company quality standards, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Implement company and customer requirements related to quality, performance, and passenger safety.
  • Support the sales team by assisting with estimates, scheduling repair work, executing service orders, and helping resolve customer concerns.
  • Investigate and address escalated customer issues while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and professionalism.
  • Adjust manpower and resource allocation to meet changing business demands and operational priorities.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and dedication to quality throughout the organization.
  • Participate in professional development programs to expand knowledge of Schindler products, services, systems, and procedures.

What you bring
• BS/AS degree in Engineering or Business preferred with prior technical sales experience; or, Journeyman Technician experience with minimum 5 years in field
• Minimum 3 years experience in either the elevator industry or in a related building systems industry
• Ability to effectively manage and resolve sensitive employee relations issues
• Solid problem solving and proven negotiating skills, high sense of urgency, strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent PC skills

Base Salary $113,400 - $141,700

The above represents the typical salary range for this position. Revisions to the range may be considered based on your experience, education, location, demonstrated skills, and alignment with business priorities. Please note that the compensation listed reflects only base salary and does not include commissions or longer-term incentives.
