Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a Project Services Engineer in the Pulp and Paper Automation business to join our SMART Products team. SMART products are a line of specialty analyzers and control devices for the manufacturing of wood pulp and paper. While the location is flexible, the preferred location would be in the Southeast or Northwest of the US. On a daily basis, you will perform a wide range of project- and service-related tasks for our customers. These responsibilities include installing, commissioning, and starting up new systems; delivering lifecycle support services; responding to customer service inquiries; resolving technical issues; and serving as a subject matter expert for our line of SMART Products. This position will be focused on ANDRITZ VIB profilers, as well as other products for SMART products for the Pulp Mill, Stock Preparation area, and board and paper machines. Responsibilities of this role include: • Ensuring high customer satisfaction for North American SMART product customers. • Collaborating with other team members to ensure that technical matters are being satisfactorily addressed and resolved in a timely manner. • Providing regular updates to customers regarding the status of their projects and service inquiries. • Preparing and maintaining technical reports in accordance with project scope or service inquiry requirements.Ensuring that all project and service work is completed in compliance with company policies and procedures. • Participating in training and professional development programs to stay up to date with new products and technologies. When selecting the ideal candidate, we will be looking for the following qualifications: • Associate's degree in electronics, engineering, mechatronics or related field preferred • Minimum of 5 years of experience in customer service or technical support roles • Understanding of the pulp and paper manufacturing process is preferred, in particular paper machine operations • Experience with data communications links between PLC and DCS (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet IP, etc) • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently • Experience with instrumentation and electrification, including installation, troubleshooting and repair • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel to customer sites as needed • This position requires regular travel across North America (including Canada and Mexico) Requisition ID: 19928
