Full Job Description
Best Line Equipment is currently seeking an experienced compact and/or heavy equipment Field Service Technician to join our growing team at our Keyport, NJ facility. This is a field-based position for technicians who enjoy troubleshooting complex equipment issues, working independently, and utilizing advanced diagnostic skills while being supported by an experienced parts, service, and management team.

The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing and repairing construction, heavy equipment, diesel-powered machinery, and mobile hydraulic systems. We are seeking technicians who can confidently troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic systems in the field and provide service directly to our customers.

What You'll Do:
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, service, inspect, and maintain all types of construction, landscape, heavy, aerial, industrial, agricultural, and fleet equipment.
  • Travel to job sites and customer locations to perform field repairs and preventative maintenance typically within a 3 hour radius from the store.
  • Troubleshoot and repair 24 volt systems using voltmeters, diagnostic software, and OEM service information.
  • Diagnose CAN bus communication issues, sensors, controllers, and electronic machine systems.
  • Deliver professional customer service while representing the company at customer locations.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
  • Participate in paid on-line and factory training to expand technical knowledge and certifications.

Qualifications:
  • At least two years' experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing automotive, truck, construction, industrial, or agricultural equipment.
  • Strong diagnostic ability with electrical, hydraulic, diesel engine, and electronic control systems.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, computer skills, and strong electrical, mechanical abilities.
  • Experience with 24V electrical systems, voltmeters, wiring schematics and associated skill sets.
  • Ability to work independently to diagnose equipment failures and develop effective repair solutions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent industry experience will qualify.

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week with overtime potential during peak season.

Compensation: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour (dependent upon experience).
