Responsibilities

Full Job Description
SEACORPis seeking a Field Service Manager to join our team in Manassas, VA. TheField Service Manager will lead a team of field service engineers supporting theinstallation, testing and troubleshooting of Tactical Navigation equipment.

Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage a team of technicians for the planning, scheduling and tracking of their assigned tasks.
  • Conduct dockside and at-sea tests; analyze collected data and identify and resolve installation, technical, and procedural issues.
  • Provide expertise to resolve navigation system interface issues with other shipboard systems and assist in developing and updating required documentation and procedures.
  • Travel to sponsor sites as a technical representative; conduct field tests,
    interpret and evaluate field data, and serve as a liaison with industrial, governmental, and other sponsors.
  • Prepare status, progress, and final project reports describing results of field experiments and/or inspections.
  • Light-off, configure, test, troubleshoot, and operate primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of projects.
  • Verify functionality of newly installed equipment and evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
  • Continuously develop skills related to new technology and systems relevant to ongoing and anticipated projects.
  • Maintain and seek improvements to test procedures and processes for maximum efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Provide input to Project Managers for proposals and Statements of Work.


Qualifications:

Education: Technical School Diploma.

Experience: 5 years of hands-onexperience with U.S. Navy Navigation equipment and systems, includingexperience in at least 3 of the following 4 areas:
  • Systems Requirements
  • Operational Requirements
  • Test & Evaluation
  • Training

Previous team management experience in a technical capacity.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: This position operates in standard Office, Assembly Laboratory, and Aboard Vessel/Shipyard environments. Standard offices and laboratories: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In shipyards and aboard vessels: Significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools. Significant lifting of 40 lbs. Sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, lying prone, and squatting on a daily basis. Work is performed in highly variable work conditions to include seasonable variations in weather and temperature. High probability of working in confined spaces where movement is restricted. Dust, noise and constant activity associated with the movements of materials and people, and the fabrication of steel, including welding and the use of overhead cranes/hoists. Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes and hard hat required; hearing protection and safety glasses recommended.
