Step into a high-impact role with Advanced Thermal Sciences (ATS), an RTX-owned organization within the Collins Aerospace family, where your technical expertise supports the advanced systems that keep semiconductor manufacturing operations running at peak performance. As a Field Service Engineer, you will serve as the on-site face of ATS, taking ownership of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of complex electromechanical equipment used in fabrication environments.

This is more than a service role-you will act as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring equipment reliability, diagnosing issues, and delivering solutions that align with customer needs and operational requirements.

In this position, you will combine strong technical ability with leadership and customer engagement, while managing service execution in real-world environments. With the possibility of traveling to multiple customer sites. You will gain exposure to a wide range of systems and challenges, including control systems and PLC diagnostics. If you enjoy solving complex problems, leading in the field, and making a direct impact on critical operations, visibility, and technical depth to grow your career.

This role values practical expertise and technical problem-solving in real-world environments. While a degree is typically associated with a position of this level, we recognize that equivalent experience gained through hands-on work, technical training, or service-based roles can be equally impactful.

This is a remote role with the primary work location in the Boise, ID area.

What You Will Do:
  • Perform on-site field service, including installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and removal of complex temperature control equipment to meet customer and company requirements
  • Install, test, service, and calibrate equipment to ensure performance aligns with operating specifications and customer expectations
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, providing clear recommendations and solutions to both internal teams and customers
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and routine service activities to ensure equipment reliability and long-term performance
  • Analyze product performance and support modifications, upgrades, and enhancements based on customer specifications and operational needs
  • Serve as the primary on-site representative, building strong relationships and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Ensure services are delivered in alignment with contract requirements, timelines, and expectations
  • Coordinate technical services, logistics, provisioning, and system configurations to support customer operations
  • Maintain and review equipment logs to identify trends, determine repair needs, and recommend effective solutions
  • Basic computer literacy, including navigating Microsoft Office 360 and standard desktop applications
  • Up to 50% Travel expected to support customer sites and business needs


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a University Degree and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and servicing complex temperature control equipment


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to build relationships and represent the organization effectively
  • Experience supporting or servicing industrial/commercial refrigeration systems
  • Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical control systems, including PLCs
  • Experience performing hands-on diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of electromechanical systems in a field service or industrial environment
  • Universal EPA certification

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
