Full Job Description
Job Overview
As a Field Quality Engineer - Vehicle Systems and Integration at Harbinger Motors, you
aren't just monitoring quality-you are the front-line detective ensuring our next-
generation electric vehicles redefine industry standards for uptime and durability. You
will bridge the gap between real-world performance and engineering design, using a mix
of hands-on troubleshooting and advanced data analytics to solve complex problems
before they impact the customer.
What You'll Do:
• Failure Analysis & Troubleshooting: Act as the primary technical expert for
diagnosing complex, systemic issues across mechanical, electrical, and software
domains. You'll be the person digging into the "why" behind a fault code or a
structural fatigue point.
• Predictive Reliability: Utilize predictive reliability analysis to identify potential
failure modes in our fleet. You won't just wait for things to break; you'll use
statistical tools to forecast when they might.
• Product Reliability Engineering: Partner with the hardware and software teams
to implement reliability growth plans. You will translate field data into actionable
design improvements.
• Data Management & Analytics: Own the feedback loop. You will manage field
performance data, ensuring it is clean, categorized, and funneled into the right
engineering sprints for rapid iteration.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Service, Engineering, and
Manufacturing to close the loop on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective
Actions (CAPA)
Who You Are:
• The Technical "Triple Threat": Proven experience troubleshooting mechanical
systems (chassis, drivetrain), electrical architectures (HV systems, wiring
harnesses), and software integration (CAN bus communication, over-the-air
updates).
• Analytical Rigor: Demonstrated disciplined and structured problem-solving skills,
with the ability to use field data, testing and engineering judgment to identify root
causes and evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Field Grit: You are comfortable working in the field, under a vehicle, or in a lab
setting. You thrive when the solution isn't in a manual.
• Communication Skills: The ability to translate high-level technical data into clear,
concise reports for executive leadership and actionable tasks for engineering
teams.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering (or
equivalent experience).
• 3-10 years of experience in Field Quality, Reliability Engineering, or a highly
technical Service Engineering role within the EV or automotive space.
• Strong proficiency in data management tools (SQL, Python, or specialized BI
platforms).
• Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools (Oscilloscopes, Multimeters,
CANalyzer/CANoe).
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
