Full Job Description
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: - Manage two Training Coordinators to ensure successful completion of assigned tasks. - Supervise the design and development of emergency field operations training programs and associated materials. - Coordinate with contractors to develop new training materials. - Oversee the coordination and delivery of training programs. - Work closely with the emergency field operations planners and external stakeholders to ensure training program is up to date and complies with current response plans. - Supervise the development and implementation of a training program evaluation framework. - Oversee the monitoring of employee performance and compliance to training programs. - Serve as lead facilitator for all trainings and spearhead facilitator recruitment, onboarding and engagement. - Assist in the development and implementation of a facilitator evaluation program. - Serve in an emergency role for a public health emergency, as needed. - Participate in Bureau-led emergency drills and exercises. PREFERRED SKILLS: - 3-4 years of training experience or instructional design and development - 1-2 years of experience working in emergency management - Exceptional writing, communications and interpersonal skills - Excellent presentation, group facilitation and public speaking abilities - Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining accuracy and efficiency - Creative and strategic problem-solving capabilities - Familiarity with training development software such as Articulate360 and learning management systems (LMS) - Loan Forgiveness: As a prospective employee of the City of New York, you may be eligible for federal/state loan forgiveness and repayment assistance programs that lessen your payments or even fully forgive your full balance. Qualification Requirements 1. Master's degree from an accredited college in emergency management, public health, disaster management, emergency preparedness/administration, public administration, or related field and one (1) year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following area(s): emergency preparedness planning/management, emergency medical services, fire or public safety, law enforcement, homeland security, public health, mental health, environmental/occupational health and safety or a related specialized area; or 2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one of the areas described in "1" above; or 3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience. However all candidates must have a minimum of one (1) year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one of the areas described in "1" above.
