Full Job Description
The Field Nurse and Home Health Aide (HHA) Instructor combines hands-on clinical care with education leadership, providing nursing oversight in client homes while leading the HHA certification program. This role ensures high-quality care delivery, regulatory compliance and the development of skilled, compassionate aides who uphold agency standards.
What You'll Do:
• Deliver classroom, skills lab and clinical instruction aligned with state-approved HHA curriculum
• Teach core topics including personal care, infection control, safety, nutrition, mobility and vital signs
• Evaluate student competency through exams, skills checklists and observation
• Maintain accurate training documentation and student records
• Conduct in-home client assessments and develop/update care plans
• Provide field supervision of HHAs to ensure care plan compliance and quality standards
• Perform supervisory visits and evaluate aide performance and client satisfaction
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to aides
• Communicate with clients, families and interdisciplinary team members
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and agency policies
What We're Looking For:
• Active RN license in good standing
• 2+ years nursing experience (home care, long-term care or community health preferred)
• Experience teaching or supervising aides strongly preferred
• Knowledge of HHA certification and home care regulations preferred
• Strong clinical, teaching and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel within service area
