Project Overview:

The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S.

This project is of significant scale and complexity, and our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year.

The candidate will act as the Preventive Maintenance Field Engineer on the upcoming project. The candidate may start in the home office in Reston, Houston or Cheyenne, Wyoming, as single status, to support preconstruction planning ahead of project mobilization to the field.

Job Summary:

The Preventive Maintenance Field Engineer is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and execution of preventive maintenance programs for project systems and equipment. This role ensures reliability, maintainability, and safe operation of installed assets, and supports the transition from construction to commissioning and startup (CSU). #LI-RM1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure maintenance and housekeeping of storage areas, storage layout, and storage surveillance are performed in accordance with the Field Supply Chain Guidebook.
  • Collaborate to establish the storage program and requirements for all permanent plant equipment and material by reviewing project specifications, design documents, available vendor information, prime contract and client requirements.
  • Shall ensure storage of material and equipment governed by ASME Code requirements (specifically Section I, Boilers and External Piping, and Section VIII, Pressure Vessels) uses methods to preserve the condition and to maintain the identity of stored items and materials in accordance with requirements provided in the BQCM.
  • Ensure storage requirements, and storage facility planning (indoor and outdoor) are established before the equipment or material delivery to the construction site. Allowances must also be made for prefabrications areas, tool rooms, batch plant, aggregate storage, parking, heavy equipment staging, etc.
  • Smart Completions is used to track maintenance of permanent plant equipment and material manual records.
  • Track installation quantity.
  • Generate field material requisitions (FMRs).
  • Possess knowledge of job scope, technical issue resolution, work package development, field changes, configuration control, temporary utility support, and quality verification through inspection, testing, and nonconformance reporting and control.
  • Resolve technical issues pertaining to the preservation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Monitor and audit the proper implementation of the PM program.
  • Perform the Engineering Inspection Request (EIR) inspections of permanent plant equipment.
  • Provide technical support for material storage and control, and the preservation and maintenance operations.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or other relevant technical discipline from an accredited university as well as a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience, or 5-6 years relevant experience in the absence of a degree.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site.
  • Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance concepts.
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
