As the Field and Meter Services Manager at LES, you'll lead a dedicated team responsible for delivering the reliable field services and metering operations that keep our customers connected and our electric system running efficiently. In this key leadership role, you'll provide strategic direction for daily field operations, oversee high-volume scheduling for utility locates and customer service installations, and ensure compliance with State One-Call laws. You'll also help shape the future of our utility by evaluating emerging meter technologies and identifying opportunities to improve operations across the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND COMPETENCIES

Responsible for providing leadership, expertise, and strategic planning for the Field and Meter Services Department. Specific responsibilities include managing high volume scheduling for the LES One-Call responsibilities on a daily basis in compliance with State One-Call Laws and for customer service installations. Additionally, this position maintains an awareness of emerging meter technologies and how said technologies benefit or interact with other functions throughout the company. Ensures that all work is done in a safe and efficient manner while focusing on the customer experience and integrity of metering data. Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

  • Provides strategic leadership to department management and oversees the effective supervision of staff to include prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, monitoring employee performance, ensuring staff members are trained and cross trained, resolving conflicts, and making hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Recommends, develops, implements, and communicates policies, programs, and processes for area of assignment and interprets them in a manner that is fair and consistent with the document's intent.
  • Develops, monitors and analyzes department operational and capital budgets, expenses, and budget variances to identify trends, control costs, etc. in order to recommend needed resources, account for current and future regulatory requirements and risk mitigation. Makes decisions based on the limits of approved budgets and policies.
  • Coordinates with divisions and departments, electrical contractors, city inspectors, and customers concerning metering requirements, meter installations, and service removals.
  • Provides strategic oversight of Nebraska 811 requirements and develops plans to adjust operations to meet the changing requirements.
  • Investigates and manages damage claims associated with the work of the department to provide recommendations for payment.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field and

  • Seven years of progressively responsible utilities experience in area of assignment, including supervisory experience; or,

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

  • Valid Driver's License
