The Senior Manager of Payor Partnerships for our Fee for Service (FFS) portfolio plays a critical role in DaVita's strategy to remain the provider and partner of choice for kidney care. This teammate manages complex health plan relationships, leads high-visibility negotiations, and drives value across our traditional FFS portfolio.

With a deep understanding of managed care and negotiation, the Senior Manager leads a team of analysts and managers, developing creative financial solutions to overcome barriers around contract language, rate transparency, and economics. This role acts as a primary liaison between Payor Partnerships and other cross-functional stakeholders-including operations, finance, strategy, and legal-ensuring successful execution and implementation of business-critical contracts while fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Complex Deal Execution & Negotiation: Lead complex payer negotiations, including new contract negotiations, rate renewals, and termination/expiration events. Develop creative solutions around proposal development, economics, and contract language.

FFS Portfolio Strategy & Management: Manage a multi-million-dollar portfolio of health plan relationships. Establish go-forward strategies for rate transparency, yield growth, and defense accounts. Organize joint operating committees and executive meetings to communicate DaVita's value proposition.

Team Leadership & Development: Manage, coach, and develop a team of direct reports (Managers and/or Analysts). Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. Ensure appropriate delegation, project planning, and capacity forecasting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Management: Act as a thought partner and primary liaison for operational leaders, finance, strategy, legal, and other stakeholders. Lead cross-functional alignment on FFS strategy, financial targets, and barrier resolution (e.g., credentialing, system implementations, collections).

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 5-8 years minimum work experience in complex deal execution, healthcare strategy, and relationship management.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, particularly managed care, payor dynamics, and provider contracting strongly preferred.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and developing a team.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in critical thinking, financial analytics, and complex problem-solving.
    • Exceptional executive presence and high-impact oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple ambiguous projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel: Available for some travel (up to 20%).

This position will be open for a minimum of three days.

The Salary Range for the role is $119,000.00 - $172,000.00 per year.

If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position.

New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $66,300.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $66,300.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $62,353.20/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $17.00/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $17.00/hour, Remainder of New York state: $16.00/hour

Washington Exempt: $80,168.40/year Washington Non-exempt: Bellingham: $19.13/hour, Burien: $21.63/hour, Everette: $20.77/hour, Unincorporated King County: $20.82/hour, Renton: $21.57/hour, Seattle: $21.30/hour, Tukwila: $21.65/hour, Remainder of Washington state: $17.13/hour
