The FedRAMP Technical Writer role is a fully remote position requiring availability during EST or CST business hours. The FedRAMP Technical Writer will support cloud operations teams by creating, maintaining, and enhancing technical documentation related to FedRAMP compliance, cloud infrastructure, operational processes, and security controls. An ideal candidate for the FedRAMP Technical Writer role is an experienced technical writer with a strong understanding of cloud environments, compliance frameworks, and project coordination best practices.
Responsibilities of the FedRAMP Technical Writer:
• Create and maintain FedRAMP documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), standard operating procedures, policies, and control narratives.
• Collaborate with cloud operations, engineering, security, and compliance teams to document technical processes and system architectures.
• Track documentation deliverables and project milestones to ensure timely completion of compliance and operational initiatives.
• Translate complex cloud infrastructure and security concepts into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation.
• Support audits, assessments, and authorization activities by providing and updating required documentation artifacts.
Qualifications of the FedRAMP Technical Writer:
• 5+ years of technical writing experience supporting cloud operations, cybersecurity, or compliance programs.
• Hands-on experience with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and related federal compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple documentation initiatives simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Compensation for the FedRAMP Technical Writer includes:
• Salary range: $115,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
