Federal Program Manager

Location: Hybrid- In-person expectations include client visits (Northern Virginia/DC)

Job Summary:

Thunder Federal is seeking a Program Manager to spearhead and own a large-scale Salesforce Program. This person will serve as the senior customer-facing delivery lead for a complex, highly visible program.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience with Federal SaaS delivery. This position requires strong leadership, governance, and planning capabilities, as well as experience operating at the intersection of business strategy, digital delivery, and client management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall Federal program delivery, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and budget
  • Own program execution across schedule, risks, reporting, release readiness, and cross-workstream coordination
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for cleared Federal stakeholders
  • Track program performance metrics and provide transparent, timely communication through executive-level status reports and program dashboards to Federal clients and internal leadership.
  • Ensure all program documentation, deliverables, and reporting comply with Federal standards, including security and reporting requirements for Salesforce Government Cloud Plus environments.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, Business Analysts (BAs), and Quality Assurance (QA) resources to ensure overall program success.
  • Escalate critical risks and issues proactively and implement strategic mitigation strategies.


Qualifications:

  • 7-10+ years of IT program or project management experience within large-scale, complex Federal environments
  • Experience leading Salesforce-based programs is highly preferred
  • Strong strategic planning, governance, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex programs in cleared delivery environments.
  • US Citizenship required
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance preferred, or willingness to attain Secret Clearance
  • PMP preferred
