Overview

UnityPoint Clinic is actively recruiting for a Family Medicine Physician to join our team.

  • Opportunity to practice outpatient medicine in an established, well-known primary care clinic serving Fort Dodge and surrounding communities
  • Cohesive group of colleagues and supportive staff allowing for autonomy while building the practice according to your preferences
  • Experienced staff, both clinical and non-clinical, with a lot of longevity who know the patients and the community extremely well
  • Flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
  • Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
  • Leadership and committee involvement opportunities available


Responsibilities

  • Full-time benefit eligible position, 36 patient contact hours per week
  • Average 20-25 patients per day
  • No nights or weekends
  • No inpatient duties; 24/7 adult and pediatric hospitalist coverage
  • Clinic call shared among primary care providers in multiple clinics
    • Currently 1:14 call rotation
    • Telephonic call only - no need to report to the clinic or hospital
    • Calls triaged by MyNurse hotline
    • Minimal call volume
  • Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
  • General primary care procedures such as joint injections, skin excisions, lacerations, etc.
  • Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
  • Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills


Qualifications

  • MD or DO
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine
  • Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
  • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician's field of practice
  • Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
  • J-1 waiver sponsorship available
