Position Overview
Experienced or New Grad Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) position available in Newark Valley, New York.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide general medical care and treatment to patients in our medical facility, under direction of a physician. Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Record physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition. Discuss cases with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan. May refer patients to physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.

Must be board certified or eligible. Must pass boards prior to starting.
New Grads will participate in our APP Residency Program.
FNP possess or be eligible for licensure in New York State.

Annual Compensation Range:

$131,900 - $155,200

Provides primary care to patients, collaborating with and under the direction of physicians in the clinic, following established standards and practices. Helps with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations. Educates patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments. Conducts physicals, orders tests and serves as a patient’s primary healthcare provider.

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree
  • Possession of an NPI (National Provider Identification) number, as evidenced by the receipt of a copy of the notification assigning the number
  • Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program
  • Three (3) years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting


License/Certification

Minimum Required:

  • Current NYS Registered Professional Nurse License
  • American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certification
  • Current NYS Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) license and certification with New York State Education Department
  • Documentation of current CPR certification required within one (1) week of hire, with maintenance of current CPR certification during employment
  • Certified Prescriptive Privilege in NYS
     

Preferred:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • Possession of Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (BNDD)Number
