Join our Core Faculty and the Program Director, as they continue to administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME key competency areas. You will participate in the development of resident didactics as well as provide presentations for the residents; mentor residents on their senior projects and participate in research projects; and journal club.
This is a full time Core Faculty position. You will also participate in the recruitment of new residents into our program: reviewing candidate applications, contacting potential candidates, being involved in recruitment dinners, interviews, and other programs revolving around recruitment. The program maintains 16 residents each year. There is a full complement of support staff to assist with the operational needs of the training site. You will precept in a residency clinic along with maintaining your clinical skills to build and maintain your own personal practice of patients.
Job Details: - Participate in supervisory and teaching responsibilities to residents in an outpatient setting
- Serve as an advisor and role model for Family Medicine residents
- Participate in the recruitment of new residents into the program
- Maintain scholarly activity as it relates to ACGME requirements
- Participate in resident journal clubs
- Mentor residents on their senior projects and participate in research studies
- Provision of direct patient care in an outpatient setting
- OB/Gynecology provider is located within the facility
- Onsite laboratory and radiology services
Qualifications: - 3-5 years family medicine experience highly preferred; previous academic experience highly preferred
- Experience with outpatient medical faculty preferred
- Board Certification in Family Medicine
- DEA
- Michigan licensed or eligible to obtain licensure in the State of Michigan
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within 3 months of hire
- Knowledge of the principles and practice of preventative medicine
- Knowledge of the state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and to community health centers
- Demonstrated skill of accessing, analyzing, and applying medical literature to clinical practice
- Excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills
- Skilled at communicating effectively with patients and their families
