Job Title: Failure Analysis EngineerResponsibilities:- Support fab manufacturing operations and participate in the team's on-call schedule to address urgent needs.
- Collaborate with customers and factory stakeholders to interpret requests, identify solutions, and provide actionable feedback.
- Perform advanced materials analysis using techniques like TEM, FIB, SEM, SIMS, and XPS for semiconductor manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve lab equipment issues to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime.
- Develop and improve analytical methods to enhance lab efficiency and capabilities.
- Assist and train technicians in resolving tool and process challenges while building their expertise.
- Willing to work in a cleanroom environment when needed.
- Follow lab safety protocols and cleanroom standards to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Occasionally handle chemicals with proper PPE as required for lab processes.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:Education:- Master's degree in Materials Science, Physics, engineering or a related field.
- At least 1 year of laboratory experience, preferably in supportinng Semicondctor R&D or High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM).
Technical Skills:- Proficient in at least one lab technique: TEM, FIB, SEM, SIMS, XPS, or AES, with a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience.
- Capable of working independently and managing tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
Interpersonal Skills:- Team-oriented with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and flexibility in job assignments to meet fab operation demands.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment and support lab operations beyond regular hours.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Power BI and SQL is a plus.
- Skilled in statistical analysis techniques for data interpretation and trend identification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings and collaborating with teams.
Physical Requirements:The essential functions of this position require the ability to perform basic physicl activities associated with working in a clean room or advanced manufacturing enviornment, including but not limited to:
- Walking and standing for extended periods of time
- Reaching, bending and stopping to access equipment, materials and workstations
- Handling, positioning or operating cleanroom tools or components and materials.
- Wearing required cleanroom garments and personal protective equipment.
Training:- On-the-job training will be provided to ensure familiarity with company-specific processes, systems, and quality standards.
- Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site at our Phoenix, Arizona facility.
