Job Description Summary
Le Responsable technique du support client assure le soutien de la base installée de systèmes HVDC et FACTS de GE, en mettant l'accent sur les compensateurs synchrones. Vous serez chargé de piloter le volet technique des contrats de service pluriannuels ainsi que des garanties. Le candidat retenu développera et maintiendra une expertise dans l'exploitation et la maintenance des équipements HVDC et FACTS, en s'appuyant sur le savoir-faire de GE et les meilleures pratiques de l'industrie.

The Customer Care Technical Leader supports GE's install base of HVDC & FACTS systems, with a focus on Synchronous Condensers. You will be responsible to lead the technical portion of multi-year service contracts and warranties. The selected candidate will develop and maintain an expertise in the operation and maintenance of HVDC & FACTS devices, building on GE's know-how and the industry's best practices.

Job Description

Rôle et Responsabilités:
  • Piloter le volet technique des contrats de service pluriannuels et des garanties.
  • Réagir activement et dans les meilleurs délais aux problèmes système, et promouvoir un niveau élevé de satisfaction client en maintenant une communication ouverte et en apportant une attention proactive aux besoins des clients.
  • Tenir à jour les journaux système regroupant l'ensemble des données relatives aux défaillances sur les projets de condenseurs synchrones.
  • Analyser les dysfonctionnements des systèmes et les pannes d'équipement en examinant les journaux d'événements et les enregistrements de transitoires, et apporter des solutions aux problèmes rencontrés sur site.
  • Élaborer, mettre en œuvre et analyser des programmes de maintenance ainsi que des procédures de test afin de maximiser la disponibilité, la fiabilité et la performance des installations de condenseurs synchrones.
  • Apporter un soutien à l'équipe de site lors des activités de mise en service, de maintenance et de dépannage des systèmes de condenseurs synchrones, en examinant les plans de site et en fournissant des avis techniques lors des visites sur site.
  • Effectuer occasionnellement des interventions sur le terrain, notamment pour la mise en service, la maintenance et le dépannage des systèmes de condenseurs synchrones.
  • Examiner les rapports de site relatifs aux activités de mise en service, de maintenance et de dépannage des systèmes de condenseurs synchrones.
  • Fournir un support technique à l'équipe d'appel d'offres pour l'approvisionnement des dispositifs et équipements FACTS.


Qualifications requises:
  • Diplôme en génie électrique
  • Connaissance des machines tournantes (alternateurs ou compensateurs synchrones)
  • Expérience dans la maintenance et la mise en service d'équipements à haute tension
  • Anglais et français courant écrit et parlé: L'employé(e) sera amené(e) à interagir de manière fluide avec des collègues de nos autres installations à travers et/ou à l'extérieur du Canada, et qui sont généralement incapables de communiquer en français et dont la langue de travail est principalement l'anglais.
  • Capacité démontrée à analyser et à résoudre des problèmes
  • Capacité à documenter, à rédiger des rapports techniques et à planifier les activités sur site
  • Connaissances en systèmes de commande et de protection des équipements à haute tension et des postes électriques
  • De 5 à 10 ans d'expérience pertinente

  • Lead technical portion on multi-year service contracts and warranties
  • Respond actively to system issues in a timely manner and promotes high level of customer satisfaction by maintaining open communications and providing pro-active attention to customer requirements
  • Maintains system logs on all failure data across Synchronous Condenser projects
  • Analyzes systems maloperation and equipment failure by reviewing event logs and transient records, and providing solutions to site issues
  • Develop, perform and analyze maintenance programs and testing procedures to maximize Synchronous Condenser installations availability, reliability and performance
  • Support site team during commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting activities on Synchronous Condenser systems by review of site plans and providing technical inputs during site visits
  • Occasionally perform field work, ie. commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of Synchronous Condenser systems
  • Review site reports from commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting activities on Synchronous Condenser systems
  • Provide technical support to Tendering team in procurement of FACTS devices and equipment


Required Qualifications
  • Degree in electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of rotating machines (generators or synchronous condensers)
  • Experience in maintenance and commissioning activity of high voltage equipment
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and French: The employee will be required to interact fluidly with colleagues in our other facilities across and/or outside of Canada, and who are generally unable to communicate in French and whose language at work is predominantly English.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to document, write technical reports and plan site activities.
  • Knowledge in the controls and protection of HV equipment and substation
  • 5 to 10 years of meaningful experience
