Full Job Description
Position Overview:
As our Facility Security Officer, you will collaborate closely with the security and safety personnel in implementing local, corporate, and Department of Energy (DOE) facility security requirements to ensure compliance, safety and security of the facility, its employees, visitors, and assets. This role involves the implementation and enforcement of security protocols, conducting regular inspections, and coordinating with law enforcement as necessary. The officer will also handle incident reports and maintain communication with management regarding security matters.

On-site in Euclid, Ohio

Your Day to Day as a Facility Security Officer:
  • Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring all security protocols are followed.
  • Conduct regular security patrols of the premises, including interior and exterior areas, to identify and address potential security hazards.
  • Maintain visitor logs and ensure that all visitors have appropriate access credentials.
  • Conduct investigations of security incidents or breaches, documenting findings and reporting them to management.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of facility security policies and procedures.
  • Regularly review and update security systems and technology to enhance facility security.
  • Provide training to employees on security awareness and emergency procedures.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services during emergencies or incidents.
  • Maintain all security records and reports in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Maintain comprehensive administrative knowledge of site access control systems and assist personnel in submitting access requests.
  • Assist with providing direction to the contract guard personnel providing security on-site 24/7.
  • Prepare and facilitate the processing of DOE security clearances, maintaining detailed records in compliance with government regulations.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the Security Program.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field; advanced degrees or professional security certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a security or access control role experience preferably with a customer service focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing employees and leaders of diverse backgrounds and generations.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in leveraging data to inform decision-making.
  • Trustworthy, capable of handling sensitive information appropriately, and able to interact professionally with various disciplines and personalities.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Pay: $70,000 - $103,000

The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $70,000 and $103,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
