Description

The Facility Manager maintains the buildings and grounds of the organization, directs staff and oversees the upkeep of equipment and supplies. The Facility Manager will ensure the buildings and grounds are maintained, which entails daily and weekly cleaning schedules and inspections, as well as determining and scheduling repairs, waste reduction improvements, and safety inspections. The Facility Manager is responsible for managing the maintenance of fixed equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities through appropriate repair facilities and the Department of Public Works (DPW). The Facility Manager will be responsible for key control of affected facilities and secure areas.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a facility management program including preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements.
  • Conduct, document, and report regular facilities inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes.
  • Submit and monitor work orders for repair and ensure maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
  • Implement best practice processes to increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the military representatives to obtain quotes and tenders from vendors and suppliers.
  • Calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness and coordinate with the Purchasing Clerk to prepare cost estimates.
  • Generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility-related activities.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives.
  • Advise on and monitor energy efficiency.
  • Assure security of the facility.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills to conduct meetings, execute plans and prepare reports, plans, and work instructions.
  • Must have the ability to provide information and reports, resolve issues and recommend actions to improve delivery of services to the customers.
  • Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
  • Experienced user with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to receive a favorable Tier 1 investigation result and obtain/maintain a CAC.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of facilities maintenance control/maintenance.
  • Minimum of two to three years of progressive experience and responsibility in a maintenance field with specific experience in facilities management.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.

Physical Demands & Working Environment:

  • Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and shop environments and is regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Pay & Benefits:

  • Pay range: $85K - $95K.
