Full Job Description
Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is looking for a Facility Manager to support our government customer located in Arlington, Virginia.

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, operational readiness, security coordination, and general upkeep of an assigned government facility, including general office, common-use, conference, and secure spaces. The Facilities Manager serves as the primary on-site point of contact for facility-related matters and proactively ensures the workplace remains safe, secure, functional, professional, and ready to support daily operations.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the day-to-day condition, functionality, and readiness of the facility, including offices, conference rooms, common areas, restrooms, storage areas, breakrooms, and secure spaces.
  • Conduct routine facility walkthroughs and inspections to proactively identify maintenance, safety, cleanliness, security, or operational issues and initiate appropriate corrective action.
  • Monitor routine office and facility requirements, including lighting and lightbulbs, refrigerator and water filters, appliances, plumbing fixtures, heating and air conditioning, doors and locks, furniture, office equipment, and other general facility items.
  • Perform minor routine facility tasks when appropriate, such as replacing accessible lightbulbs, refrigerator or water filters, batteries, and similar consumable items. Coordinate professional maintenance or repair services when required.
  • Coordinate and track maintenance, repairs, inspections, preventative maintenance, and other facility service requests through completion.
  • Maintain awareness of recurring and preventative maintenance requirements and ensure required inspections, replacements, and services are completed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the overall condition, cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance of the facility and initiate corrective actions when deficiencies are identified.
  • Ensure conference rooms, common-use areas, breakrooms, and other shared spaces remain functional, appropriately maintained, and ready for use.
  • Coordinate conference room scheduling and reservations as required.
  • Support accountability and management of government and company property, furniture, equipment, keys, access devices, and other assigned facility assets.
  • Coordinate appropriate facility access for maintenance personnel, contractors, service providers, deliveries, inspections, repairs, renovations, and other authorized activities.
  • Communicate relevant facility information to assigned personnel, including planned utility interruptions, maintenance activities, access changes, emergency notifications, and other matters affecting facility operations.
  • Coordinate and support office moves, furniture installation, renovations, equipment installation, and other facility improvement activities.
  • Support the operation of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and other controlled spaces and ensure that maintenance, repairs, renovations, and other facility activities are appropriately coordinated to maintain applicable security requirements.
  • Maintain familiarity with applicable government and company security policies and procedures associated with facility operations.
  • Coordinate with appropriate security personnel regarding physical security, access control, personnel access, and secure facility requirements.
  • Coordinate security guard services and after-hours facility coverage when applicable.
  • Coordinate and participate in escorting uncleared visitors, maintenance personnel, contractors, and other authorized individuals when access to controlled or secure areas is required.
  • Serve as a facility liaison among government personnel, company leadership, property management, maintenance personnel, contractors, service providers, and security personnel as necessary to support facility operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and update applicable facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), emergency procedures, inspection records, maintenance schedules, contact information, and other facility documentation.
  • Proactively identify facility risks, deficiencies, recurring maintenance issues, and opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations to appropriate leadership.
  • Support emergency preparedness and facility response activities, including utility interruptions, heating or air-conditioning failures, plumbing issues, building alarms, severe weather, evacuations, and other facility emergencies.
  • Perform other facility management, security coordination, administrative, and operational support duties as assigned.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional education, training, or certification in facilities management, property management, security management, business administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Relevant government security or secure-facility training is preferred.
  • Facilities management certifications or related professional training are desirable but not required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of combined experience in facilities management, government facility operations, property management, physical security, secure facility operations, office management, or closely related functions, with demonstrated responsibility for supporting the successful day-to-day operation of a professional facility.
  • Experience supporting a government facility, secure government office, SCIF, or similarly controlled environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively inspect and monitor a facility, identify maintenance and operational requirements, coordinate repairs and service support, and follow issues through resolution.
  • Working knowledge of general office and facility operations, preventative maintenance coordination, building services, workplace safety, property accountability, and service-provider coordination.
  • Working knowledge of SCIF operations and applicable physical security requirements sufficient to coordinate facility activities within a secure environment.
  • Familiarity with applicable government security policies and procedures associated with secure facility operations.
  • Ability to recognize routine facility deficiencies and either perform basic corrective actions within the scope of the position or coordinate appropriate professional support.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate with government personnel, company leadership, maintenance personnel, contractors, service providers, and security personnel.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills with the ability to manage multiple facility, maintenance, security, and administrative requirements simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with government and Contractor personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to develop and maintain SOPs, facility procedures, inspection documentation, maintenance records, and other required documentation.
  • Working knowledge of property management and inventory accountability requirements.
  • Proficiency with standard office productivity applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and calendar management.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance

COMPENSATION DETAILS:
  • $130,000.00
  • The compensation range or hourly rate provided is a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, internal equity, market conditions, and applicable laws.
