The Facility Maintenance Superintendent position offers an outstanding opportunity to lead and guide the daily tasks of our facilities and critical systems maintenance teams, including external contractors. This role is essential in maintaining smooth operations and meeting GMPs, GDPs, EHS standards, and other applicable regulations. You will also develop and implement capital projects related to infrastructure and essential systems, prioritize tasks, delegate work, and act as a technical resource.
Job Responsibilities- Provide technical expertise and direction to the staff of a 24-hour / 7-day operation.
- Offer training to personnel for the development of a well-balanced work team.
- Support maintenance staff as needed.
- Develop and implement modifications and improvements to existing equipment/control systems.
- Lead and assist in the procurement and installation of new equipment.
- Lead all aspects of large-scale capital projects, coordinating engineers and ensuring successful implementation.
- Support critical systems, including distilled water, process air, environmental air, HVAC systems, fluid systems, and electrical systems.
- Interact professionally with management, staff, plant personnel, vendors, and outside contractors.
- Develop and maintain spare parts inventory for all areas of responsibility.
- Ensure maintenance conformance with SOPs and specifications.
- Supervise plant/department construction and capital improvement projects.
- Provide resources to ensure the success of plant 6S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Achieve all due dates on assigned projects.
- Align with environmental health and safety regulations.
- Perform additional duties as determined by supervision/management.
- Learn, understand, and apply rigorous quality standards, SOPs, and cGMP.
- Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action for any safety, quality, mechanical, or discrepancy issues.
- Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Capable of supervising complex maintenance and repair tasks, including machine overhauls.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Preferred experience with HVAC systems, clean rooms, boiler control room operations, WFI generation, energy reduction, and power distribution systems.
- Preferred programming/troubleshooting experience with automation controls, PLCs, HMIs, and facilities/utilities automation systems.
- Project management skills and experience, including Microsoft Project software.
Physical Requirements- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds.
- Capability to lift up to 30 pounds overhead.
- Capability to bend or stoop, climb ladders, and reach overhead.
- Ability to meet confined space entry requirements and maneuver in tight spaces.
- Ability to work in unfavorable conditions (hot/cold temperatures) and high places.
- Audiometric testing and hearing protection are required.
- Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for long periods.
- Must meet Baxter Cleveland Visual Acuity requirements.
Required Education and Experience- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering or Technology or at least 10 years of equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of five years of experience in facilities or critical systems maintenance with leadership responsibilities.

The estimated base salary for this position is $96,000 - $120,000 annually. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change.
