Full Job Description
The Facilities Technician supports the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of the organization's physical workspace while also managing shipping and receiving activities. This role ensures the facility is functional, efficient, and well-maintained, and that all incoming and outgoing materials are handled accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and comfortable balancing facilities tasks with logistics duties.

Facilities Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, including plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues and complete repairs using sound judgment, technical skill, and personal initiative.
  • Execute and manage technically complex projects with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in scheduling, escorting, and overseeing contractors performing facility repairs or projects.
  • Assist with office moves, equipment installations, furniture assembly, and workspace reconfigurations.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in clean, safe working condition.
  • Follow and promote workplace safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE use, and hazard reporting.
  • Support compliance with OSHA, fire code, and internal safety policies.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness activities, including equipment checks and safety drills.


Shipping & Receiving Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Log, label, and distribute incoming materials, mail, and packages to appropriate departments.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, documentation, and scheduling carrier pickups.
  • Keep loading dock and storage areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve delivery discrepancies or delays.


Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business or Facilities Management, a plus but not required.
  • 3+ years working knowledge of facility operations, maintenance, construction projects and real estate/lease administration
  • Experience in facilities maintenance, warehouse operations, or a related field preferred.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and basic proficiency in plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using a wide range of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to perform and manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and initiative.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures.
  • Physical ability to stand, lift, bend, and climb for extended periods; ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with shipping systems (UPS, FedEx, USPS) is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is between $75,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, we offer an annual bonus and equity in the company.
