We are seeking a Facilities Move Coordinator/Project Lead to support SDA’s mission.
The Office Move / Project Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing office relocation projects from initiation through post-move closeout. This role serves as the primary point of contact among leadership, facilities, IT, security, vendors, and employees to ensure the move is completed on schedule, within budget, and with minimal disruption to business operations. The Project Lead develops and manages project plans, mitigates risks, coordinates logistics, and ensures all operational requirements are met before, during, and after the relocation. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of office relocation projects, including headquarters moves, office expansions, consolidations, and workspace reconfigurations.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, and communication plans.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, facilities, IT, HR, security, procurement, finance, and business units.
- Manage third-party vendors, including movers, furniture suppliers, telecommunications providers, construction contractors, and facility management teams.
- Conduct site assessments and develop move strategies that minimize operational downtime and business disruption.
- Coordinate furniture, equipment, inventory, records, and asset relocation activities.
- Ensure IT infrastructure, telecommunications, audiovisual equipment, and network connectivity are operational prior to occupancy.
- Oversee workspace assignments, floor plans, signage, and employee seating arrangements.
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues impacting schedule, cost, or quality.
- Monitor project budgets, approve expenditures, and provide regular status updates to leadership.
- Develop move-day procedures, contingency plans, and command center operations.
- Coordinate employee communications, move instructions, orientation materials, and post-move support.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety regulations, security requirements, and facility standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–10 years of experience managing office relocation, facilities, operations, or complex project management initiatives.

- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, contracts, and vendor performance.
- Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting government agencies or defense contractors.
- Knowledge of facilities planning, workplace design, and space management.
- Experience coordinating classified or secure office relocations.
- Familiarity with change management principles and organizational communications.
