Job Description

David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to support both of our Houston offices, each over 60K sq ft. The successful candidate must be able to manage many projects involving maintenance, repairs and improvements to both of our buildings as well as the facilities team. This position requires a team player who values delighting both internal and external customers alike! Must be well-versed in facilities management processes and exhibits high multitasking and organizational abilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards
  • Maintain equipment and building assets
  • Organize and plan building projects
  • Manage facilities department
  • Establish external relationships with both external contractors and vendors
  • Keep buildings and all facilities up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocols
  • Inspect buildings structures to determine the need for repairs or renovation
  • Manage budget and financials overall
  • Perform budget analysis and forecasting
  • Be part of budget and project meetings and ready to present to executives
  • Responsible for the set up and coordination of events at both facilities


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of solid work experience in facilities maintenance and manager role
  • BS/BA in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC systems and other building systems
  • Excellent time management & organization skills and multitasking skills
  • Experience planning and maintaining budgets
  • Understanding of accounting and finance principles
  • Great leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service skills
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; exposure to JD Edwards beneficial
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and clear verbal and written communication skills (Spanish is a plus
  • Attention to detail and ability to deal effectively with numerous interruptions while prioritizing tasks
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) helpful
  • Self-starter and willing to take initiative
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday and after hours as necessary
  • Physical Demands & Environment: Work indoors and outdoors; ability to lift up to 50lbs; bend, climb and reach
