Full Job Description
About the Role:
As a CBRE Facilities Manager, you will lead the soft services and consumables function for a client account. You'll manage the janitorial, landscaping, and PPE vendor relationships that keep the facilities running, and partner directly with lab managers to ensure consumables - PPE and other lab-required product - are stocked and compliant. This role is soft services-focused.
What You'll Do:
  • Provide formal supervision to two direct-report Soft Services Managers and oversee the Warehouse Coordinators; monitor training and development, conduct performance evaluations and coaching, and support recruiting and hiring.
  • Schedule and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Own and manage vendor relationships across janitorial, landscaping, and PPE - coordinating scope of work, service levels, and invoicing.
  • Partner with client lab managers to keep PPE and consumables (face masks and other lab-required products) stocked, compliant, and responsive to lab needs.
  • Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues.
  • Prepare and manage operating budgets and variance reports for the soft services and consumables program.
  • Perform facility inspections and quality assurance for soft services delivery, following local, state, and federal regulations; suggest operational efficiencies and upgrade opportunities.
  • Manage environmental health and safety procedures related to soft services operations.
  • Oversee vendor invoicing procedures and review price quotes for the procurement of soft services parts, products, and labor.
  • Conduct process and procedure training on soft services and safety best practices.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach agreement.
  • Apply knowledge of own discipline and how it integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver's license required. Facility Management certification preferred.
  • Hands-on experience managing soft services vendors - janitorial, landscaping, and PPE/consumables - including scope, service levels, and invoicing.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention.
  • Comfort partnering directly with lab or research stakeholders on PPE and consumables programs.
  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
  • Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
  • Ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial-related figures for budget and variance work.
