Facilities Management Program Planner (Preventative Maintenance)

Duration: Regular Full Time

Salary: $45.48 - 47.37 - 49.35 - 51.51 - 53.70/hour

Schedule: 40 hours weekly; Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

This position works in the Facilities Asset Systems organizational unit. This is administrative and technical work involving coordinating planned preventative and predictive maintenance and contract monitoring for municipal buildings and building systems, as part of a municipal preventative maintenance program. An incumbent of this class coordinates preventative maintenance work for all facilities; reviews and oversees the work of contractors to ensure regulatory compliance; administers contracts for building maintenance and repair services; and monitors budgets and makes necessary recommendations; conducts research, analyses and compiles data, prepares and makes recommendations for the facilities preventive maintenance program; tracks progress of projects carried out by other staff. Considerable independent judgment and action is exercised in carrying out the work while unusual problems and policy matters are discussed with a supervisor who reviews the work for effectiveness, compliance with established standards, achievement of objectives and exercise of sound judgement. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include the completion of a Diploma program in building or architectural technology including or supplemented by related courses, plus sound related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Thorough knowledge of the preventative maintenance program, methods, materials and equipment used in building structures, repairs, renovations and general maintenance. Ability to prepare and monitor preventative maintenance schedules; prepare, monitor and control operating budgets and costs for preventive maintenance and repair of all City buildings and ancillary equipment. Ability to prepare and maintain records, reports, operate computerized maintenance management systems, correspondence and various other material related to the work, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts and to provide advice, information and recommendations to same. A valid Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia is required.
