A Day in the Life
You'll support mission-critical facilities that enable life-saving innovation and manufacturing. As a Facilities Maintenance Technician V, you'll play a key role in sustaining a safe, reliable, and inclusive work environment.

This role is fully onsite in Massachusetts - time will be split between Danvers and Billerica with occasional travel to other nearby sites.

  • Serve as the site's HVAC subject matter expert (SME) and primary go-to resource, providing technical leadership, troubleshooting support, and mentoring junior technicians across the hub
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled HVAC maintenance across multiple Massachusetts facilities, including diagnostics, repair, and replacement of components on split systems, RTUs, fan coil units, air handlers, and other mechanical equipment
  • Respond to HVAC service calls, troubleshoot system issues, and implement corrective actions to restore proper operation
  • Conduct routine, periodic, and special inspections of HVAC equipment to ensure reliability, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory and site standards
  • Utilize HVAC tools and instruments, including gauges, meters, calibrated testing equipment, and both standard hand and power tools
  • Interpret and work from technical documents, including blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment manuals, layout drawings, and specifications
  • Perform general facility maintenance tasks as needed, including light carpentry, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, and equipment repair to support overall site operations
  • Document all work performed in maintenance systems and communicate equipment status to facilities leadership
  • Maintain readiness to travel between multiple Massachusetts locations, providing mobile support to ensure consistent HVAC operations across all sites


Must Haves
  • 15+ years of Facilities/HVAC experience
  • Refrigeration Technician License
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical schematics, and operating manuals
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills


Nice to Have
  • Experience with commercial or industrial HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, or electrical systems
  • Knowledge and experience working with RODI Systems
  • Working knowledge of building automation systems (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell)
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols or ISO-classified environments
  • Refrigeration Contractor License.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to inclusion, collaboration, and continuous learning


For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. A7 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$80,000.00 - $120,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
