Facilities & Maintenance Manager
Location: Bedford Park, IL (Onsite, Full-Time)

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team and ensure the smooth operation of both our facilities and production equipment. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a balance of technical expertise, team management, and process improvement.

About the Role:
The Facilities Maintenance Manager will oversee all maintenance activities, with approximately 40% focused on facility upkeep and 60% on production machinery. You will manage a team of one supervisor and four technicians, ensuring preventive maintenance and repairs are completed on schedule, while also actively troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.

This position requires strong leadership, task prioritization, and familiarity with preventive maintenance systems (we currently use MaintainX). The Manager will also support inventory control, track machine downtime, and handle purchasing of certain maintenance-related items. Time will be split between the production floor (50%) and the office (50%), depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and develop the maintenance team.
• Plan, assign, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Manage the MaintainX system to optimize preventive maintenance and task management.
• Troubleshoot and repair production machinery (mechanical ~60% / electrical ~40%).
• Maintain and repair systems including pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, and motors.
• Support equipment-related purchasing and inventory management.
• Partner with leadership on budget-related discussions when needed.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance management experience (10+ preferred).
• Demonstrated stability and longevity in past roles.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (including up to 480V electrical work and basic PLC knowledge).
• Experience with preventive maintenance systems/task management platforms (MaintainX experience a plus).
• Strong leadership, prioritization, and follow-up skills.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience in windows and doors manufacturing.
• Advanced PLC and ladder logic experience.
• Engineering or technical degree.
• CMMS experience.
• Bilingual Spanish skills (90% of production staff are Spanish-speaking).
• Experience with specialized equipment (cutting machines, welders, robots, coating/painting, packaging).
• Relevant certifications or technical training.
