Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Electrician is
responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing
electrical systems and equipment that support production operations and
facility infrastructure. This role ensures maximum equipment reliability,
safety compliance, and operational efficiency while supporting continuous
improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and production equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues to minimize downtime and restore operations quickly.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain and repair motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, control panels, conveyors, lighting systems, and facility electrical infrastructure.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production and facility equipment.
  • Support installation and startup of new equipment, machinery, and electrical upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with all electrical codes, OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, and company safety procedures.
  • Assist with facility maintenance activities including power distribution, HVAC controls, generators, and building systems.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and work orders within maintenance management systems.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in on-call or overtime support as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Company vehicle driving requirements estimated at 20%; must have valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.


Qualifications

  • High School diploma
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial maintenance electrical experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience working with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and automated production equipment.
  • Ability to use electrical testing equipment including multimeters, megohmmeters, and amp meters.
  • Understanding of lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient computer skills required
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Preferred qualifications & skills
  • Associate's degree in Electrical Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Journeyman Electrician license preferred or equivalent industrial electrical experience.
  • Experience with automation systems and robotics.
  • Knowledge of HVAC controls and facility support systems.
  • Welding, fabrication, or mechanical maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Experience in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing environments.
  • Experience using CMMS systems preferred

Pay Range

Salary Range: USD $31.52/Hr. - USD $47.29/Hr.
