Full Job Description
TITLE: Facilities Engineer Please note: Title and compensation will be assigned commensurate with the candidate's experience.

WORKING LOCATION: Mobile Bay Office - 6000 Deakle Road, Theodore, AL. Potential to work hybrid schedule from Houston, Texas Office and/or New Iberia, Louisiana Office

FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-Time

SCHEDULE: Mon -Thurs - 9 hours/Friday - 4 hours

FLSA STATUS: Hourly, Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: Senior FacilityEngineer's primary purpose is to facilitate safe and efficient process plant operations by ensuring proper design and regulatory compliance of W&T Offshores Onshore Treating Facility (OTF) in Theodore, AL and the offshore platforms that flow sour gas and produce liquids to the OTF. Engineer plans, monitors, manages and reports on the projects including engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning and startup. Engineer monitors operational KPIs, including process efficiencies, process volumes, downtime and maintenance costs, and recommends projects and/or process changes to improve KPIs. Engineers monitor mechanical integrity programs and work with chemical vendors, inspection teams, and other mechanical integrity professionals to make sure adequate mechanical integrity is maintained.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare AFEs for projects in their area. Track facilities AFE costs and turn in AFE supplemental forms if project goes over budget.
  • Review and approve purchase orders and invoices for facilities projects.
  • Review daily construction reports to ensure projects are completed according to plans in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot issues with ongoing projects and resolve as needed.
  • Serve as liaison between operational teams: Production Operations, HSE&R and Management to report on status of projects and report delays.
  • Conduct site visits to facilities to support production operations and evaluate facilities for upcoming projects.
  • Prepare and approve safety and compliance drawings for facilities and submit to regulatory agencies.
  • Propose budgets on an annual basis for facilities in their area.


KNOWLEDGE, EDUCAITION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • 10-20 years of experience with minimum 10 years within an oil-gas company or midstream company.
  • Sour gas treating plant experience is promoted
  • PE preferred
  • Strong problem solving
  • Sets goals (deadlines, budgets, etc.), tracks performance vs. goals, analyzes performance and makes adjustments to improve performance.
  • Recognizes opportunities to implement process and program improvements.
  • Professionally communicates with individuals at different levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Professionally represents W&T Offshore when working with suppliers, government agencies and other outside parties.
  • Works both independently and in a team setting;
  • Enjoys working in an environment where technical and financial challenges will allow the employee to grow their skills.
  • Strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) and MS Project.
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA and State of Alabama regulations related to process facilities
  • Exceptional time management skills.

  • Report to the Mobile Bay office daily and adhere to schedule
  • Requires some travel to Houston Office and New Iberia Office field
  • Requires travel to offshore platforms on a boat or helicopter.
  • Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.) and H2S certification, as appropriate when evaluating site or equipment
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic device
  • Ability to have face to face conversations with stakeholders, peers and management
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and move around work environment as needed
  • Comply with company policies and procedures


PHYSICAL REQIREMENTS:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
