We are currently looking for a Facilities Engineer III or Senior level for our Channelview, TX or Carthage, TX office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Operations Engineer provides technical support and engineering expertise for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of pipelines, compressor stations, measurement & regulation (M&R) facilities, and related midstream assets. As a field-based member of the operations engineering team, the Operations Engineer functions as the first-line technical support-supporting day-to-day operations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and process safety requirements. This role collaborates closely with Field Operations, Engineering & Construction, and other Asset Performance & Innovation groups to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and the successful execution of asset management initiatives.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years supporting natural gas compressor stations (midstream oil & gas preferred).
- Working knowledge of pipeline, compressor station, and/or M&R facility operations.
- Familiarity with process safety management (PSM), management of change (MOC), and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with relevant engineering software and digital tools.
- Willingness to travel to field locations as required (up to 40% of the time).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience supporting field operations in an owner's engineer capacity.
- Experience with digital transformation, automation, or data analytics in field operations.
- Knowledge of asset integrity, measurement, automation, or compression systems.
- Advanced proficiency in technical writing and documentation.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
