The
Washington County Facilities Division Manager leads the Operation & Maintenance, Real Estate & Planning, and Capital Projects Programs to ensure strategic planning, construction, and responsible stewardship of county-owned and leased facilities. The position reports to the Director of Facilities, Fleet, and Parks and provides leadership to supervisory, technical, and support staff while fostering a collaborative and safety-focused work environment. Responsibilities include creating a 5-yr capital improvement plan, developing a $23M annual operating budget, developing policies, directing workflow, and guiding long term planning and performance improvements.
The Facilities Division Manager provides strategic leadership to a diverse team-oriented workforce. This role is responsible for motivating, developing, and supporting staff by promoting professional growth, encouraging transparency, and upholding accountability across the Division. The Manager ensures a safe and productive workplace by providing coaching when needed, overseeing performance improvement efforts, and supporting comprehensive safety and training programs.
The position requires strong leadership and clear oral and written communication to effectively interpret, apply, and explain County policies and procedures within assigned areas of responsibility. The Facilities Division Manager represents the Division before the Board of Commissioners as needed, and handles inquiries or complaints with professionalism, fairness, and tact.
This role also plays a key part in building and maintaining strategic partnerships across the County and representing the organization within external associations and trade groups. Through collaborative leadership, the Facilities Division Manager helps advance the Division's mission and supports high-quality service delivery to County departments and the broader community.

Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field* AND four (4) years of documented experience enabling the incumbent to perform the essential functions of the position including at least two (2) years of this experience must be performed in a supervisory role. OR
- Associate's Degree in a related field* AND six (6) years of documented experience enabling the incumbent to perform the essential functions of the position including at least two (2) years of this experience must be performed in a supervisory role. OR
- Six (6) years of documented experience enabling the incumbent to perform the essential functions of the position including at least two (2) years of this experience must be performed in a supervisory role.
*Related fields include, but are not limited to: Engineering, Project Management, HVAC, Building Science, Construction Management, Facilities or Property Management, and Management.

The four Divisions led by Division Managers work collaboratively to support and participate with department management to achieve County and Department goals.
The focus of the Facilities Division is on maximizing the value of our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and project management system to support key performance metrics, improve preventative maintenance tracking and planning, and ensure effective project delivery.
