Facilities Director to lead the facilities and biomedical maintenance functions that support our clinics, employees, physicians, and patients.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced facilities or biomedical professional who enjoys solving problems, leading people, managing projects, and keeping complex healthcare operations running smoothly.
The Facilities Director oversees the maintenance and operation of our facilities and medical equipment while managing vendors, service agreements, preventative maintenance programs, equipment procurement and installation, capital projects, renovations, security-related facility needs, and other operational priorities. The position works closely with organizational leadership, physicians, employees, vendors, and service providers to support quality patient care across the organization.
What You'll DoAs Facilities Director, you will:
- Lead and direct the facilities and biomedical maintenance team, ensuring buildings and equipment are properly maintained, operational, safe, and compliant with applicable requirements.
- Oversee preventative maintenance programs, safety inspections, service agreements, and contractual maintenance activities.
- Manage contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure work is completed effectively, timely, and cost-efficiently.
- Identify and source new contractors and service providers as organizational needs evolve.
- Obtain and review quotes and proposals for repairs, equipment, projects, expansions, and remodels.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee approved facilities-related capital projects.
- Identify, procure, and coordinate the installation and placement of medical and non-medical equipment for clinics and support facilities.
- Coordinate maintenance of ophthalmic lane and laboratory equipment and help ensure critical equipment remains operational.
- Serve as a primary internal resource for facilities and biomedical service requests and issue resolution.
- Manage vendor relationships and establish appropriate equipment maintenance and service agreements.
- Collaborate with architects, organizational leaders, Information Services, and other partners on new locations, expansions, clinic redesigns, and renovations.
- Coordinate equipment delivery and installation for newly developed locations.
- Provide quality assurance and oversight for facilities-related projects.
- Coordinate building-security-related responses with applicable security vendors.
- Oversee practice vehicle fleet maintenance.
- Coordinate office moves and remodels.
- Travel to practice locations as needed to oversee and coordinate facilities, equipment, and project activities.
The position has broad responsibility for facilities projects as well as medical and non-medical equipment throughout the practice. Additional responsibilities include fleet maintenance, office moves and remodels, equipment assessment, and maintaining appropriate equipment spares.

Qualifications include:- Bachelor's degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of facilities and/or biomedical management experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing people and customers
- Proven commitment to excellent internal and external customer service
- Strong vendor, contractor, and service-provider management skills
- Demonstrated expertise with the setup, use, and maintenance of medical equipment, either hands-on or through coordination with applicable service vendors
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to changing operational needs
Preferred qualifications:- Previous experience with ophthalmic equipment
- Electronics certification
