JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Direction- Leads multiple crafts or functions with strategic oversight of initiatives and programs. Partners with
leadership to plan and evaluate operational strategies that drive efficiency and compliance. Ensures departmental objectives
align with organizational priorities, fostering a culture of accountability and growth. Demonstrates strong decision-making to
achieve long-term operational goals.

Performance & Professional Development - Applies expertise to guide operational strategies and mentor team leaders. Drives
performance improvement initiatives and contributes to strategic planning discussions. Supports talent management
processes, including recruitment, retention, and succession planning, in partnership with Human Resources, while ensuring
compliance and promoting professional development.

Project & Operational Management - Leads departmental maintenance and capital projects, ensuring alignment with
organizational goals and operational priorities. Leads planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for multiple projects,
including coordination with clinical and engineering teams. Reviews and approves project specifications, design drawings,
and equipment submittals. Owns the construction outage process, ensures stakeholder communication, and directs
commissioning activities. Implements improvement strategies and monitors compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Communication & Collaboration- Leads departmental operations to ensure services align with organizational priorities and
patient care standards. Establishes and enforces policies and procedures, fostering a safe and effective environment.
Oversees planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for maintenance and capital projects, ensuring cost efficiency and
quality. Communicates Cincinnati Children's mission, goals, and values, providing education and guidance to staff and
stakeholders. Monitors facilities operations, addresses critical issues, and drives improvement initiatives to achieve
departmental objectives.

Vendor & Financial Management - Provides leadership in vendor management and financial oversight for departmental operations. Coordinates maintenance activities and process improvements, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. Reviews and approves equipment repairs and replacements for quality and cost efficiency. Collaborates with leadership to develop and manage annual and capital budgets, monitors financial performance, and recommends corrective actions. Ensures compliance with financial policies and fosters transparency in reporting and resource utilization. Ensures accurate reporting, productivity tracking, and effective management of accounts receivable, while fostering transparency and accountability across all financial and operational activities. May coordinate patient room refurbishing with Nursing and Plant Engineering crafts. Maintain proper scheduling of personnel and procurement of material to perform cost-effective maintenance and repair for area of responsibility. Meet with staff to identify problem areas, develop improvement methods and evaluate programs toward achieving goals and objectives. Capital
projects and renovations. Perform other duties as assigned. May review timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information. May direct the day-to-day operation and repair of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Technical & Regulatory Expertise - Provides leadership in regulatory compliance and Environment of Care for the department. Evaluates operations for adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as JCAHO accreditation
standards. Develops and enforces departmental policies, oversees preventative maintenance programs, and ensures readiness plans remain current. Coordinates corrective action plans, monitors compliance documentation, and fosters interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance awareness and performance. Leads initiatives to improve safety and operational standards. Spot check work to ensure that workmanship meets standards and that safety and building regulations are complied with. Adhere to and enforce all safe work practices and policies in the department. Enforce compliance with Infection Control policies and procedures.
