Job Description

Position: Facilities and Tool Database Manager

Job Description: The Tool Database & Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's tooling database while managing day-to-day facility requirements to support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role serves as a key resource for tooling information, inventory control, facility coordination, and operational readiness.

Key duties

Tool Database & Tooling Management
  • Manage the engineering tool database within TDM software; ensuring all standards are maintained.
  • Work with Programmers and AE's to determine tooling components
  • Manage tool library, protecting against unnecessary expansion
  • Tool Build Verification Programming (Zoller, Heimer or eqiuv.)
  • Create Inspection routines on the Zoller
  • Work with IMC (and other vendors) to develop new tools and track project status
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues in Catia and Vericut
  • Tap test and gage cut new tools to determine the cutting parameters stored in TDM
  • Work with appropriate vendors to enhance the capabilities of TDM


Facilities Management
  • Manage day-to-day facility needs to ensure the manufacturing environment is safe, functional, organized, and operationally ready.
  • Coordinate facility repairs, maintenance activities, contractors, and service providers as required.
  • Track facility issues and drive them to timely resolution.
  • Support maintenance of manufacturing equipment infrastructure, utilities, work areas, storage areas, and common facility systems.
  • Coordinate facility modifications, installations, relocations, and improvement projects.
  • Maintain organized storage areas for tooling, equipment, materials, and other manufacturing resources.
  • Support facility safety, housekeeping, and 5S initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and outside vendors to schedule maintenance and minimize disruption to production.
  • Maintain facility-related records, documentation, and service schedules.
  • Identify opportunities to improve facility efficiency, organization, and operating conditions.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience in an aerostructures or aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across departments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to coordinate vendors, contractors, maintenance activities, and internal resources.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to understand technical documentation, tooling information, drawings, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Strong communication and follow-through skills.
