Job Summary:We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fabrication Manufacturing Shop Safety Manager to join our operations team. This vital role will champion our "Goal Zero" safety culture across our multi-location fabrication facilities in Beaumont and Houston, Texas. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, enforcing, and standardizing safety programs, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:- Safety Leadership:
- Champion our "Goal Zero" Safety Culture, fostering a proactive safety mindset among all employees.
- Develop, implement, and standardize safety programs across both locations.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to share best practices and reinforce safety protocols.
- Perform risk assessments, site inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring thorough documentation and reporting.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA CFR 1926, Stormwater, and VOC monitoring.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory changes, updating safety policies and procedures accordingly.
- Act as a safety advocate, providing guidance and support to employees on safety-related concerns.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to safety in all actions and decisions.
- Conduct 6S audits to identify areas for improvement in workplace organization and efficiency.
- Analyze operational processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement solutions to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational effectiveness.
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects, utilizing Lean Manufacturing and other process improvement methodologies.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives.
Competencies:- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Safety Manager in a fabrication manufacturing shop environment.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, particularly CFR 1926.
- Experience implementing and managing safety programs in a multi-location setting.
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant safety certifications preferred.
