Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced F5 Implementation Engineer to support enterprise Application Delivery Infrastructure across global environments. This role focuses on architecture, design, implementation, lifecycle management, and optimization of load balancing platforms including F5 and VMware AVI. The engineer will drive scalable, secure, and resilient solutions aligned with enterprise standards and business requirements. The position will primarily support a migration program transitioning from the legacy VMware AVI load balancing platform to the F5 platform.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of application delivery infrastructure, including design, deployment, upgrades, migration, and decommissioning.
• Design load balancing solutions based on industry best practices, engineering standards, security principles, and business requirements.
• Develop High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), runbooks, implementation plans, and operational documentation.
• Architect application delivery solutions including SSL offloading, DNS, persistence, traffic optimization, and security controls.
• Support the migration of application delivery services from VMware AVI to F5 platforms.
• Ensure security controls and compliance requirements are embedded into application delivery designs and implementations.
• Perform QA validation and testing to ensure successful production deployments.
• Collaborate with global engineering, operations, and Line of Business (LOB) teams for service transition and delivery.
• Drive service request fulfillment processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
• Reduce change-related incidents through peer reviews, standardized deployment procedures, and governance.
• Lead lifecycle management programs including patching, platform upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and End-of-Life (EOL) replacement.
• Provide metrics and performance reporting and present key insights to leadership.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues involving load balancing, DNS, SSL, and network connectivity.
• Support implementation and migration activities while maintaining application availability, resiliency, and security.
Required Qualifications
• Strong hands-on experience with F5 load balancing and application delivery technologies.
• Experience with VMware AVI load balancing platforms.
• Experience supporting enterprise application delivery infrastructure in global environments.
• Experience with load balancing architecture, design, implementation, and lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of SSL offloading, DNS, persistence, traffic management, and application delivery concepts.
• Experience developing HLDs, LLDs, runbooks, and implementation plans.
• Experience with production QA validation and deployment testing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across load balancing, DNS, SSL, and network environments.
• Experience with infrastructure security, compliance controls, vulnerability remediation, and platform lifecycle management.
• Experience collaborating with global engineering, operations, and business/LOB teams.
• Strong understanding of change management, deployment governance, and operational service transition.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with F5 migration programs, particularly migrations from VMware AVI to F5.
• Experience managing large-scale application delivery infrastructure transformation initiatives.
• Experience with F5 platform upgrades, patching, vulnerability remediation, and EOL replacement.
• Experience with automation and standardized deployment processes.
• Experience preparing infrastructure metrics and executive-level reporting.
• Knowledge of enterprise network architecture and security principles.
