Job Description:

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking a Security Specialist - Administrative to join the F-35 program in Arlington, Virginia.

The F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) leads life-cycle management of the F-35 Lightning II, the fifth-generation joint strike fighter serving the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, Cooperative Program Partners (CPP), and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers across multiple classification levels. Support includes Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Special Access Programs (SAP), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). The F-35 JPO Security Directorate provides full-spectrum, multi-disciplined security support to protect F-35 technology and information across the enterprise and throughout the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle, spanning Continental United States (CONUS) and overseas operations globally.

The role of the Security Specialist - Administrative (Senior) is to provide SME-level guidance and senior-level interface for administrative security support functions across the F-35 JPO Security Directorate, including security documentation management, database maintenance, and security event coordination:

  • Draft, create, maintain, and update security-related documentation and publications, including Security Operations Manuals (SOMs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Security Classification Guides (SCGs), Access Management Control Plans (AMCPs), Project Security Instructions (PSIs), Site and Ship Activation Management Plans (SSAMPs), Continuity of Operations Plans (COOPs), Occupant Emergency Plans (OEPs), Program Protection Plans, and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs)


  • Maintain and update U.S. Government security-related websites, databases, and systems of record, including the Joint Access Database Environment (JADE), Defense Information System for Security (DISS), local databases, SharePoint, and central archives


  • Assist with the scheduling and execution of security-related meetings, conferences, and working groups; record notes and security tasks identified during these activities


  • Perform task management and develop tracking methods for all government-identified priorities, tasks, reports, and security-related actions


  • Provide SME-level guidance on administrative security documentation standards per the F-35 JPO Security Directorate Manual 01-01, Documentation Standards, and applicable DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) policy


Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Security Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline, OR Bachelor's Degree plus four (4) years of additional work experience in administrative security support


  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience providing administrative security support in a DoD or cleared facility environment


  • Demonstrated experience managing DoD security documentation, databases, and records management systems, including DISS and JADE


  • Experience coordinating security-related meetings, working groups, and official correspondence in a multi-classification program environment


  • Secret clearance required

The likely salary range for this position is $128,039 - $173,229. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
