Extraction Superintendent- Valdosta, GA
This is a full-time, exempt position.

Position Summary:
The Extraction Superintendent will coordinate and oversee day-to-day activities of the Valdosta soybean crush plant. This position is responsible for the safe, successful and progressive day-to-day operational activities and maintaining compliance with company policies, government regulation and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, DNR, FDA, USDA, FRA, HACCP, etc.). The position also is responsible to deliver quality specs and standards, commercial demands, improve processes, train and develop team members.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for safe and efficient operations in all areas in compliance with all environmental and regulatory requirements and guaranteeing quality and standards of the products meet the expectations of our customers and our operations.
  • Respond to plant, process, personnel, product, and environmental emergencies.
  • Ensure successful day-to-day operation of the Processing facility, in areas of safety, environmental, quality, and production.
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager to carry out plant specific goals and objectives. Plan strategically for both short- and long-term goals.
  • Coordinate and assist the Refinery and De-lint Superintendent with their respective operations as needed.
  • Involvement with the management of policies and procedures that ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, food safety, sanitation, quality policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production problems, optimizing yields, productivity, and controlling costs.
  • Provide leadership for colleague development as well as establishing and achieving plant goals.
  • Plan and execute a strategically plan on maintain and improve operation on short, medium and long term.
  • Ensure production numbers records and inventories are accrued and consequence production yields.
  • Control plant costs and process efficiencies improvements.
  • Ensure planning of maintenance and capital activities and able to adjust operations to support these activities.
  • Committed to developing structured and sustainable systems using Continuous Improvement and Ability to execute principles and procedures. Actively promote, lead, support and fully participate in the Performance Excellence process.
  • Able to work effectively with the EHS Managers, Centers of Excellence, Commercial teams as well as other members of management internal and external to the facility.
  • Maintain a high degree of availability and responsibility to a 24/7 operation.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years production and supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment and leadership in plant health and safety program as well as quality and food safety programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a food processing facility, employing GMP and HACCP methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Interpersonal skills employed include handling conflict, motivating, instructing, and training personnel in a fair, honest, and direct way.
  • Technical competence in mechanics, instrumentation, controls, calculations, and utility systems.
  • Ability to achieve and track excellence using performance-driven metrics.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with MS Office, Pi, and Maximo.
  • Ability to effectively manage time for optimal results.
  • Able to utilize independent judgment to solve problems, have excellent organizational and prioritization skills to effectively handle multiple ongoing tasks, meet deadlines, and strive for continuous improvement and high expectations of direct reports.
  • People management within a union environment is a plus.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
