Full Job Description

For Lawyers and non-lawyers providing leadership and oversight to business operations to assure adherence to all aspects of internal company and external regulatory compliance. Ensures appropriate mechanisms are in place to comply with relevant laws and regulations, and adherence to corporate programs and practices. Develops notions on midterm developments for own department and elaborates suggestions for strategic plan of the larger unit (be it function or business unit).

As the Export Compliance Leader, you will be responsible for:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain export control policies, procedures, governance frameworks, compliance controls, and classification methodologies, including oversight of ECCN determinations and the classification of products, software, technology, services, and related technical data.
  • Provide expert guidance on U.S. EAR, deemed exports, reexports, in-country transfers, technology release controls, sanctions regulations, and global export control frameworks, including U.S., EU, UK, SCOMET, METI, and other applicable jurisdictional requirements.
  • Lead export compliance initiatives across the product lifecycle by advising engineering, technology, product, customs, logistics, and supply chain teams on trade compliance requirements, technology transfers, digital solutions, cloud platforms, AI technologies, source code access, cybersecurity controls, cross-border data transfers, import/export requirements, Incoterms, and trade documentation.
  • Develop and execute export licensing strategies, manage complex authorization matters, and support commercial opportunities involving export controls, sanctions, technology transfer restrictions, and other global trade compliance considerations.
  • Lead the review of sensitive transactions involving military end users/end uses, defense-related programs, critical infrastructure projects, advanced technologies, and high-risk jurisdictions; provide risk assessments, compliance strategies, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Interpret evolving regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business guidance; interface with government authorities and external counsel; support audits, investigations, inquiries, voluntary disclosures, compliance reviews, and develop enterprise-wide export compliance training and awareness programs.

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Extensive experience in global export controls, sanctions, and trade compliance programs.
  • Strong understanding of product, software, and technology classification methodologies.
  • Experience supporting software, digital technologies, AI solutions, cloud environments, and technology transfers.
  • Knowledge of international export control frameworks and dual-use regulations for the United States
  • Experience interacting with government agencies and regulatory authorities.
  • Familiarity with SAP, SAP GTS, Oracle, and other trade compliance or ERP systems.
